Florence is one of the most exciting attractions in the world. Definitely one of my favorite destinations, Florence is a city with many exotic places and breathtaking landscapes littered.
Famous for its magnificent art and architecture, captivating, scenic beauty, the city of Florence, surrounded by fascinating pages. L 'city certainly has numerous charms, which are not only within the main city, but spread all over its surroundings and adjoining areas. So, whenever you are in Florence, don't miss to take a trip outside the city, after relishing all major attractions within the city. Here are some of the worth visiting places outside Florence.
Fiesole - a fantastic town located 8 km (5 mi) north east, on famous scenic height above Florence. The place is packed with a number of tourist attractions. Some of the notable sites include Remnants of Etruscan walls, Roman baths, Roman theatre, Palazzo Comunale (Town Hall), Cathedral (Il Duomo), Badia or ancient cathedral of St. Romulus, church of S. Alessandro, monastery of S. Francesco, Villa Medici in Fiesole, and Villa Le Balze.
Arezzo - an old city, located about 80 km (50 miles) south-east of Florence. It's pretty worth visiting tourist attraction outside the city of Florence. Some of its attractions include Piazza Grande, Arezzo Cathedral (Duomo), Church of San Francesco, Church of Santa Maria della Pieve, Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, Museo del Duomo, Museo Archeologico "Gaio Cilnio Mecenate", Museo Statale d'Arte Medievale e Moderna, House-Museum of Ivan Bruschi, Casa del Petrarca, and La Vita รจ Bella.
Prato - a small city, located along the Bisenzio River, 8 miles (13 km) northwest of Florence. It is known for many churches, museums and other cultural monuments. Some of the attractions of Parto include Palazzo Pretorio, Palazzo degli Alberti, Santa Maria delle Carceri (church), Sant'Agostino (church), San Domenico (church), San Francesco (church), San Fabiano (church), and Monastery of San Vincenzo.
Siena - a medieval city, located about 70 km (43 miles) south of Florence. The city is famous for a pageantry horse race, Il Palio. Some of the tourist attractions of Siena include Piazza del Campo (square), Palazzo Pubblico, Duomo (magnificent black and white Italian Romanesque cathedral), Pinacoteca, and Palazzo Salimbeni.
Greve in Chianti - an attractive town in Chianti region of Tuscany, located about 31 km south of Florence. You can relish the world-famous Chianti and "Super Tuscan" wines here. Its important sites are huge Rocca (castle), necropolis Palazzo Ugolini-Squarcialupi, Bianciardi Palace, Via delle Volte underground tunnel Montecalvario Mound, and Poggino.
Gaiole in Chianti - a beautiful town about 40 km southeast of Florence.It is fantastic place to enjoy food and wines. This is perfect place, if you love natural beauty.
Additionally, you can also visit Asciano, Bucine, Barberino Val d'Elsa, Cavriglia, Castelnuovo Berardenga, Civitella in Val di Chiana, Lecchi, Monteriggioni, Monte San Savino, Montevarchi, Poggibonsi, Pergine Valdarno, Panzano, Rapolano Terme, and Tavarnelle Val di Pesa in the Chianti region.
